Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium: Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture (DMEM/F-12) with L-glutamine, no phenol red, no HEPES by JangoCell is a sterile, serum-free basal medium with added L-glutamine. This media is formulated for the growth of a variety of mammalian cell types including stem cells, glial cells, fibroblasts, macrophages and endothelial cells. In addition, DMEM/F-12 has been used across a broad range of cell culture applications and experimental studies in neuroscience, carcinogenesis, pharmacokinetics, gene expression, and regenerative medicine.

This 1:1 mixture combines the diverse nutrient mixture of Ham’s F-12 with the high glucose, amino acids, and vitamins of DMEM. DMEM/F-12 contains no growth factors, proteins or lipids, so supplementation of these factors may be required for your specific cell type; 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is often used.

Phenol Red is known to interfere with certain biochemical reactions. Phenol-red free media circumvents these issues, allowing certainty with data interpretation.
